Airport
3 Hours Before Flight Time
We will welcome and pick you up at Wamena Airport at the arrival gate. Our driver will take you to the car and help you to carry your baggage. Our driver will take you to Fakhira Restaurant for lunch then head to The Baliem Pilamo Hotel to check in.
We will begin with trip to white sand in Akima Village after check in at the hotel. The trip to white sand will take about 30 minutes by car. The white in Akimawe is amazing one as it lies on mountain, instead of beach. It is however, looks and feels like beach sands. Yes, it’s like we are on a sandy beach without sea.
We then will take you to Kurulu District. Here, you will see mummy; one of the most important assets of Wamena people. They will bring the Mummy out from the main house and put it on a table so you can have a closer look. A three minute drive from mummy house will take you to Maria Cave, our next destination. Maria Cave is located in higher place. You can see the beautiful District of Kurulu from the cave. We will return to town for dinner and back to the hotel and get rest for Day 2 trip.
In day 2, our tour guide and driver will pick you up at hotel at 9 after you have breakfast. We will go to Habbema Lake in Lorenz National Park. It takes two hours to Habbema Lake by car. There are traditional villges along the way and mountains around. The lake is surrounded by big mountains. You can aslo see Trikora Mountain, one of the three highest mountains in Papua from here. After enjoying the view of Habbema Lake, we will take you to the next destination, Stone Age. It is about an hour from Habbema Lake. In there you can see white rocks that have been formed since ancient time. It’s an amazing spot to take pictures here. We will take you back to the hotel after enjoying the view at this destination. After taking a shower, you can have dinner in the hotel or a restaurant outside the hotel.
This is the last trip of this tour package. We will take you to Suroba Village. It takes only 30 minutes by car. We have to stop in a river side near the village and cross a bridge on foot because it is a simple bridge built for people to cross the river. We will walk for 10 minutes to the village by crossing the river and going through the forest with beautiful trees. In Suroba Village you will meet Dani people and see their unique houses. Our tour guide will help you with information and explanation about people of Suroba Village and their tradition. We can visit traditional market in our way back to hotel so you can get a gift or souvenir. We will take you to a café for coffee and relaxing.
You will have breakfast at Hotel, before leave the hotel and go to the airport there will be a free time for you to get some rest till the time for departure. Our driver will pick you up and drop you in the airport.
