Maximus Tipagau
PT Adventure Carstensz began operating in 2008 as a world tour operator specializing in ecotourism and travel throughout the Carstensz Pyramid in Papua. Its success cannot be separated from the role of Maximus Tipagau. He believes that companies involved in tourism, especially those representing unique destinations like Puncak Jaya, can bring prosperity to the people of Papua.
In early 2010, Maximus expanded his network and reach by participating in the Internationale Tourismus-Börse in Berlin and the World Travel Market in London. In 2016, Adventure Carstensz further broadened its connections through events such as FITUR Madrid in Spain and Ferien-Messe in Austria.
Recognized by various media outlets, Maximus is considered the first Papuan to promote Carstensz Pyramid internationally. He has also been a speaker at several national and international events in Europe. Born in 1983, he compiled his insights into the book Guide to Carstensz Pyramid in West Papua in 2015.Beyond tourism, Maximus worked hard to establish the Somatua Foundation, aiming to cultivate leadership skills and promote equity in education and healthcare among young Papuans. Through the foundation, he is also actively involved in Doctor Share, a flying doctor service that provides medical aid to remote areas.
